Volodymyr Panchenko is a Ukraine-born gaming entrepreneur,[1] tech founder and CEO of DMarket,[2][3] a marketplace for digital skins and non-fungible tokens for gamers.[4]

Career edit

Panchenko earned his first serious money in 2008. He started buying boxes of games and selling the codes on EBay. EBay did not approve of the sale of digital goods, and the account was frozen. In 2010, Panchenko assembled a small team and registered Suntechsoft, where he began buying games directly from distributors and selling codes through online computer game stores. In 2016, Panchenko established Skins.Cash,[5] a global market for instant in-game skins sales, boasting over two million visitors per month.[6]

DMarket edit

In 2017, Panchenko co-founded DMarket, a market for trading gaming and esports digital assets, along with Tamara Slanova. In 2020, Panchenko secured $6.5 million in venture funding and appointed video game pioneer Trip Hawkins to DMarket's board.[7] In 2022, DMarket was acquired by Mythical Games,[2] backed by Andreessen Horowitz and other venture capital firms.[8]

Panchenko was featured on CNN Business. In response to the potential threat of a Russian invasion in February 2022, Panchenko facilitated the evacuation of over 100 employees and their families from Kyiv to Montenegro.[9]
