Submission declined on 30 May 2024 by Liance (talk). This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of music-related topics). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.

Please note that writing an autobiography on Wikipedia is strongly discouraged because of issues with neutrality and point of view. Cassie Wieland, known professionally as Vines, is an American indie rock/ambient musician and producer.
History
editWieland was born and raised in Normal, Illinois, where she attended Illinois State University for music composition.[1] She received her Master of Music degree from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.[2] In April 2023, Wieland self-released her first single as Vines, "Lung (Vines version)," a reinvented version of her original classical composition for solo violin.[3] Wieland released her first EP as Vines, "Birthday Party," in August 2023, recorded in Brooklyn, New York with producer Mike Tierney.[4] In 2024 she collaborated with harpist Emily Hopkins on their single "Never Mind."[5]
Musical style
editVines' style is wide-ranging, incorporating elements of ambient, indie-rock, and classical music. Journalist Vanessa Ague describes Vines' music as "an arrival to a new sound and to a new practice of intimacy and honesty in music; Wieland weaves lush, contemplative tapestries, finding catharsis in fuzzed-out melodies."[6]
