Vera Valdor (born Vera Rose Streletskie, February 20, 1918) is a Swedish actress.[2] She appeared in approximately 10 films between 1935 and 1947. Valdor played notable roles and leading woman in films such as The Girls of Uppakra, Pappas pojke, Beredskapspojkar, A Real Man and Uppåt igen.[3]
Valdor conducted theater studies for among others Carl Barcklind and Gerda Lundequist, she also studied dance for ballet master Sven Tropp. She worked at Komediteatern 1937-38, Oscarsteatern in 1940 and Södra Teatern in 1943, all in Stockholm, but also toured around the country. Valdor also studied in England in 1938-1939[4] at RADA.[5] She made her film debut in Sweden three years earlier, where she had roles in films such as Ungdom av i dag and Janssons frestelse.[6]
Valdor married the actor Gustaf Unger in 1942; they divorced in 1945. She emigrated to Cuernavaca, Mexico in 1967.[7] Valdor continued to act during the 1960s and 1970s.[8]
