Vedette Lim [1] is an American actor. She most recently stars as Vera Ye in the Netflix Sci Fi Series "3 Body Problem[2]". Other recent roles include Analyst Elise Taylor on CBS's "FBI" and Amanda Emory on HBO's "The Undoing".
Early life
editLim was born in Tucson, Arizona to a Malaysian father and Austrian Mother. She grew up outside of Seattle, Washington before moving to New York City to attend New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.
Career
editAfter completing her education, she dedicated her focus primarily to stage performances and commercials. Her career trajectory led her to notable roles on television, including appearances on ABC's “Six Degrees” and a recurring part on CBS’ “As the World Turns".
In 2009, Lim made the move from New York City to Los Angeles. Upon her arrival she landed roles in various TV projects such as “The Forgotten", “Victorious", “Parenthood", and “Medium". Notably, she gained recognition for her recurring portrayal of Naomi, Tara Thorton's romantic interest, in HBO's “True Blood" during its fourth season. Concurrently, she made her mark on the silver screen, starring alongside Natalie Portman and Ashton Kutcher in Ivan Reitman's romantic comedy “No Strings Attached".
Since then, she has worked on numerous popular television series, including “Grey's Anatomy[3]", “Chicago Fire", “Scorpion", “Castle", “Bones” and “Hawaii Five-0", and various others. Her most recent work includes HBO’s “The Undoing”, CBS' FBI and Netflix’s “3 Body Problem".
