The US LHC Users Association (US LUA)[1] is a non-profit community organization representing and advocating for scientists and engineers from the United States who conduct research using the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research. The US LUA fosters communication and collaboration among researchers, supports their work at CERN and their home institutions, and acts as a liaison between the US high-energy nuclear and particle physics communities, funding agencies, and the US Congress. These activities are aimed at enhancing US scientific participation in the scientific research performed at CERN.
Among its responsibilities, the US LUA also organizes an annual meeting and the annual US HEP community "D.C. Trip" to the US Congress, which took place most recently in April 2024[2].
History edit
The US LUA was founded after the conclusion of LHC Run 1 in 2013. Membership is free and open to all individuals at US universities and laboratories who are involved with science and engineering at the LHC.
