Twinkly is a line of decorative LED lighting products produced in Italy.
History edit
Twinkly lights are created by Ledworks, a company founded in 2016 by Marco Franciosa and Andrea Tellatin in Italy. As of 2020, Twinkly lights were sold in 40 countries.[1][2][3]
Technology edit
The first Twinkly line was the smart connected decoration light String.[4] In 2019, the company created the Generation II version of its products with a Bluetooth connection.[5] That same year, Twinkly released a pre-lit Christmas tree in partnership with Balsam Hill.[6] Its products are Wi-Fi connected[7][8] and programmable via smartphone[9] or voice command.[10] At CES 2021, the company presented a new Home Range products, introducing Twinkly Line, Twinkly Flex, and Twinkly Squares.[11] The Twinkly Flex is a shapeable LED tube and the Twinkly Line is a self-adhesive magnetic LED strip.[12][13] The Twinkly Squares is a modular interactive light panel.[14] Items can be purchased individually or as a part of a home design kit.[15] Lighting can be set to be static or to react to motion in the room.[16] Twinkly also collaborates with gaming company Razer and HP Omen[17] to develop lighting systems synchronized to gameplay.[18] Lights can also be set to react to music[19] with Twinkly Music.[20] In May 2021, Twinkly won the German Innovation Award.[2] Twinkly uses computer vision algorithms to detect the position of individual LED bulbs[21] in a given space. Lights can be set to any one of 16 million different colors[22] and each LED is identified and assigned a specific ID code.[19] The color is controlled through software and an app,[23] which can produce animations and other lighting effects.[2]
