Born 7/18/1954 to Kenneth Leroy Sparks 1932-2007 and Juanita Faye Bohannan Sparks 1930-1991. She was educated in the Cobre School District in southwest New Mexico She earned a BS in laboratory technology at Lubbock Christian College in Texas, and University of New Mexico School of Medicine in Albuquerque, NM
