There was controversy in 2016 about a planned quarry in a Turkey Creek or Turkey Canyon area, in El Paso County, Colorado near Colorado Springs, Colorado. Further developments were expected in 2017 in a process to involve the county's Planning Department and the El Paso County commissioners.[1]
