Troubles of a Grass Widower (Vive la vie de garçon) is a short comedy film released in 1908 by French film company Pathe Freres.[1] The film depicts a man trying to keep up his house and take care of himself after his wife leaves him.[2] It is extant and available online.
The 10 minite film was directed by Max Linder and features a man taking on traditionally female gender roles after his wife leaves him such as cleaning, shopping, and cooking with disastrous results.[3] UCLA has a copy of thr film.[4]
