Draft:Treaty of Burya

The Treaty of Burya (Treaty of Burin) was a delimitation treaty between Russian Empire and Qing Empire, on August 20, 1727. It was prepared during the period Embassy to China (1725-1728) and signed after negotiations in the border area on the Bura River by the Russian ambassador S. L. Raguzinsky-Vladislavich and plenipotentiaries of the government of the Qing Empire.

The treaty determined the passage of the Russian-Chinese border in those sections that were not defined Treaty of Nerchinsk of 1689. S. L. Raguzinsky-Vladislavich managed to reject the claims of the Chinese side to the territories inhabited by Russian subjects, and to implement the principle "everyone owns what he owns now." Thus, the Russian-Chinese border was defined to the west of the Argun River to the Shabin-Dabat Pass (Western Sayan Mountains). Later, these borders were fixed Treaty of Kyakhta of 1727 on the basis of the conditions worked out during the negotiations on the discussion of the Treaty of Burin.
