The state of Victoria, Australia has an extensive transportation network. It is run by the Department of Transport and Planning under the names Public Transport Victoria (PTV) and VicRoads.[1] VicTrack owns the land that the railway and tram lines are on.[2]

Victoria has over 150,000 km of roads.[3] They are mainly ran by VicRoads and Local councils. VicRoads gets funding from the Federal Government and the local councils get funding from VicRoads It has the densest road network in Australia.

Victoria has the densest railway network in Australia. The land owned by VicTrack is lended to V/Line and Yarra Trams. There is over 3,500 km of track used by freight and passenger services.[4]

The Victorian Public Transportation System is the second biggest in Australia. It has trains, trams, ferries and buses. It has 809 transportation routes.[5]

The main airport in the state of Victoria is Melbourne Airport. Melbourne airport handles over 30 million passengers every financial year.[6] Some other airports include Essendon Airport and Avalon Airport.
