According to Oxford learner's Dictionaries "A Salesperson is a person whose job is to sell goods, for example in store".

Understanding the traits of a successful salesperson will help us to grow our business and customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Traits of a Successful salesperson:

1. Personal Grooming

2. Knowledge about the product

3. Good Communication skills

4. Good Listening skills

5. Presence of mind

6. Negotiation skills

7. Deal closing strategy.

In Detail

1. Personal Grooming

   The first and foremost quality/ attribute of a successful salesperson is Personal grooming. Personal grooming means the way that you are presenting yourself.

2. Knowledge about the product

   The 2nd trait is knowledge about the product or service. If you yourself don't have the clarity why you need to buy that particular product or service, then how can expect customers to buy your product.

3. Good Communication skills

  Knowledge about the product will be of no use if you cant communicate properly with the customers. So, Communication plays a key role.

4. Good Listening skills

   Good communication without good listening skills is of no use. You should a good listener to be a successful salesperson.

5. Presence of mind

  Presence of mind is something which you should have especially in sales because you cant always expect customer behaviour and the way that customer asks questions. Good listening makes you to properly utilize your presence of mind. 

6. Negotiation skills

  This is something which every salesperson fails. You must be a better Negotiator.  

7. Deal closing strategy

  After containing all the above traits but if you don't know how to close the deal, then again you are standing in Zero.
