Tony Wied is an American politician from Wisconsin. He is the Republican Party nominee for the special election in Wisconsin's 8th congressional district to the United States House of Representatives.
Early life and career
editWied was born and raised in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He graduated from St. Norbert College, where he played college football.[1] Wied owned a chain of gas and convenience stores called Dino Stop. He sold it in 2022.[2][3]
After Mike Gallagher announced his resignation from the United States House of Representatives, serving for Wisconsin's 8th congressional district, in 2024, Wied announced his candidacy in the special election to succeed him.[4] Wied received an endorsement from Donald Trump[5] and defeated André Jacque and Roger Roth in the Republican Party primary election on August 13.[6]
Personal life
editWied and his wife, Angele, have four sons. They live in De Pere, Wisconsin.[1]
