The Sour Patch Kids were a Alternative rock band formed in 1999 in Indianapolis, Indiana by vocalist/bassist Josh Parker, guitarists Phillip Spencer & Michael Slavik and drummer Vinny Salas.
(Origins and Early Years 1999-2001)
Formed by a group of friends in High School, the band spent it's early years recording demos, writing music and honing its' craft.
Starting out as after school jam sessions in a friends basement. Eventually conflicts insued and the band cut ties relocating to Vinny's Mom's & Dad's house for future sessions.

They played around Indy's underground music scene opening for punk bands such as About the Fire, Sloppy Seconds, Toxic Reasons, MSI (Mindless Self Indulgence) and Murder Dolls eventually gaining notoriety in the underground punk scene.
