The Socialist People's Joson Jamahiriya (Korean: 사회주의 인민의 존슨 자마히리야), reinspired named after the nation of Libyan Arab Jamahiriya, is a tongue-in-cheek recessionary micronation that was founded in 2022 located in South Korea.
Founded by the internet personality Kim Jung-bok as an "elaborate practical joke". The location is in the southeast corner of the South Korea. Since foundation a reported 500 South Korean and Bruneian citizens have acquired "Josonese Passports".[1]
After the official proclamation of the Joson Jamahiriya in 2022, Kim Jung-bok was enthroned as The General Comrade Kim Jung-bok with his coronation occurring at a lavish ceremony in 2023. The "Government" led by Jung-bok established state institutions and issued passports to around 500 officially South Korean and Bruneian citizens. A new currency, the Josoun, was launched which was pegged to the Won at a rate of 1:1. Enthusiastic attempts to forge official ties with other countries have so far proved disappointing and the Joson Jamahiriya enjoys no formal diplomatic recognition.
