The Exchange (Arabic: الصفقة) is a Kuwaiti drama streaming television show created by Adam Sobel, Anne Sobel and Nadia Ahmad. Set in Kuwait City in 1987, the show follows the life of Farida, a 32-year-old divorcée, and her cousin, Munira, as they work at the Kuwait Stock Exchange.[1]

Plot edit

After a bitter divorce from her husband, Farida moves back to her parents' home with her school-age daughter, Jude. Her husband refuses to continue to pay for Jude's tuition at the British School and Farida quickly realises that she needs gainful employment in order to maintain her daughter's standard of living. She begins working alongside her cousin, Munira, at the Kuwait Stock Exchange. As the only women employees, they wade through the misogynist attitudes of their colleagues in order to prove their worth.[2]
