The Children's School edit

The Children's School (TCS) is an independent, preschool - grade 8 school located in Midtown Atlanta, GA.[1]

Founded in 1970 by Lila McDill[2], the school embeds challenging play-based learning and project-based learning within a nurturing environment to connect its students to their learning[3].

In 2018, TCS completed a $5.2 million project to add a new building for kindergarten, preschool and art students and renovate elementary school classrooms.[4]

Today, the school offers several extracurricular activities for students, including clubs[5], leadership opportunities and sports.

TCS offers a number of events[6] for families who are interested in learning more about the school.

Awards and Recognitions edit

The school's preschool program was named one of the top programs[7] in the country by Town & Country magazine. In 2017, the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) Innovation Task Force recognized the school for its innovative middle school program[8].

Because of the school's close proximity to Piedmont Park and its emphasis on hands-on learning, Atlanta Parent magazine recognized The Children's School as one of the top nature-based schools[9] in the city.
