The Texas Youth Football Association (TYFA) is an youth American Football league that consists of 72 teams divided between 2 divisions and spread out all over the state of Texas. Each TYFA fall season will have 10 weeks with each team playing 8 games and having two bye weeks. Following the end of the regular season, half the teams from each age group and each division will play a 6-week single-elimination tournament (The number of teams for each bracket will change depending on number of teams in divisional age group). The end of the playoffs is the TYFA Fall State Championships played at Texas State University's Jim Wacker Field at Bobcat Stadium.
TYFA in 1995 in San Antonio, Texas by a group of people trying provide the kids of San Antonio a convenient and competitive way to play football. The leagues has expanded over the years by adding a Flag age group in 2003 and a tykes age group in 2004 and TYFA added a second division in 2008.
TYFA has five age groups and 2 divisions. The teams in Division 1 have been in TYFA longer or/and have more success, while teams in Division 2 are new to TYFA and/or have little to no success.

SA Outlaws Reign over TYFA (2009-2014) edit
The San Antonio Outlaws were founded in 2008 by Fred Davis to give the kids of San Antonio a really good competitive youth football team. The Outlaws won their first championships one year after they were founded in 2009. These championships were: Flag, Midget (Tykes), and Rookies. Over the next five years, the Outlaws won 11 TYFA State Championships. These were also the years the hit TV show Friday Night Tykes was filmed.
