Tero Nauha is a professor in Live Art and Performance Studies (LAPS), Uniarts Helsinki.[1] In 2007 with Akseli Virtanen, Mikko Jakonen, Karolina Kucia, Katve-Kaisa Kontturi and Heidi Fast he co-created the mollecular organization, which researched for experimental forms to rethink value and organization in the context of cognitive capitalism and knowledge production. He defended his doctoral research at the Theatre Academy of the University of the Arts in Helsinki in January 2016. The title of the dissertation was Schizoproduction: Artistic research and performance in the context of immanent capitalism.[2] He was a postdoctoral fellow at the Academy of Finland funded postdoctoral research project ‘How To Do Things With Performance?’ (2016-20), and a postdoctoral fellow at the Helsinki Collegium for Advanced Studies in 2017. His primary research interest is the relationships between economics and especially financialization, artistic research, performative practices and writing. His research interests are focused on the complex narratives that tie together global and its effect on the social sphere and the cultural knowledge production that takes place in the institutions. He is the member of Performance Philosophy network, Performance Studies International and the International Federation for Theatre Research. In 2015, he published his first fiction novel Heresy & Provocation for a Swedish publishing house Förlaget.[3] With Annette Arlander, Hanna Järvinen and Pilvi Porkola, Nauha was the main editor of the first book in Finnish that collected texts on Performance Philosophy, Performanssifilosofiaa : esitysten, esiintymisten ja performanssien filosofiasta performanssiajatteluun (2020), including Karen Barad and François Laruelle.[4] Nauha studied in the 1991-1995 at the Lahti Art Institute and worked as media and performance artist after the graduation. In 1995-1996 he studied at the Academy of Arts Poznan, in Poland. In 1999-2000 he was a resident Fellow at the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam. His performance art projects were been presented at the ruangrupa, Jakarta, Frankfurter Kunstverein, Theatrediscounter in Berlin, CSW Kronika in Bytom, Poland, Performance Matters in London, Sesc Pinheiros in São Paulo and at the New Performance Festival in Turku, among other venues. One of his works is in public collections, in Artsi Museum in Vantaa.[5]
