Latasha Transrina Kebe, known as Tasha K (born 10 March 1982) is an American comedian and online personality.

Early life and background

Tasha K was born in Panama City, Florida, United States.[2][3] She relocated to Atlanta after completing high school education.[4] She is married with 2 children.

Career

Latasha is known for her YouTube UNWINEWITHTASHAK, which focuses on entertainment and celebrity news with a blend of comedy and wine tasting.[5] She has a combined social media following of over 3 million and over 2 billion views.[6][7]

Tasha K was sued for defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress and invasion of privacy by rapper Cardi B in a 2019 lawsuit filed in the US District of Georgia. She was accused of publishing false and defamatory statements about Cardi B. She was found guilty by the jury and directed to pay $4 million in damages.[8] Tasha K later filed for bankruptcy,[9] however Card B alleged that Tasha K kept offshore accounts,[10][11] and the judge ruled that Tasha K pay Cardi B damages regardless of the bankruptcy claim.[12][13] She later apologized to Cardi B, while urging Nicki Minaj to settle her ongoing feud with Cardi B,[14][15] causing the rapper to overlook the damage payments.[16][17]

Kevin Hart filed a lawsuit against his former secretary, Miesha Shakes, as well as Tasha K for defamation and extortion.[18][19][20] He alleged that they demanded $250,000 to withhold an interview of Hart's former secretary with Tasha K where information about Hart’s alleged infidelity was revealed.[21] [22] Hart believed that Shakes got malicious information about this life by eavesdropping on his private conversations and revealing them to Tasha K.[23][24] The interview was recorded in November 2023, and despite a cease and desist letter from Hart, Kebe posted the interview on her website.[25][26] He also accused Shakes of violating her non-disclosure agreement (NDA).[27][28] Hart filed for the interview to be removed, however the case was dismissed by the judge.[29][30]

It was Tasha K's show that it was revealed that Will Smith have had gay sex with his fellow Bel-Air actor Duane Martin by his former associate and best friend,[31][32] Brother Bilaal.[33][34] Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith refuted this claim, and threatened to sue Tasha K, however, they never did.[35][36]

The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) and Tasha K were sued by singer R. Kelly for in a case that he alleged the BOP sold his digital prison records, including his phone calls to Tasha K.[37] Kelly’s lawyers alleged negligence, invasion of privacy, intentional infliction of emotional distress, civil theft, civil conspiracy, and violation of the computer fraud and Abuse Act.[38] The Department of Justice's investigation found that at least 60 officers accessed his records, with one officer allegedly providing them to Tasha K.[39] Kelly claims the leaks included recordings of his phone calls with his legal team and girlfriend, which left him isolated and fearful to communicate with his attorneys.[40]

As a comedian, he hosts the Come Tea comedy show.[41]

Tasha K had a take on Keke Palmer during the later's separation from her husband, Darius Jackson, implying Palmer allowed the public to believe was abusive because he no longer wanted to be with her which led to the public emasculating Jackson.[42]

Tasha K gave a congratulatory message to Ice Cube and spouse about their long-lasting marriage and compared Ice Cube to Denzel Washington, another actor known for a long-lasting marriage.[43] She also criticized Ashanti for rekindling her relationship with Nelly whom she once had a decade-long relationship with before the couple broke up in 2013, and iterated that the absence of an engagement ring was an indication of Nelly's lack of intent to marry Ashanti.[44] Jaguar Wright blamed Tasha K for her recent arrest, however, Tasha K denied having any involvement with Wright's arrest, stating that she had nothing to do with Wright not returning a U-Haul truck.[45] Tasha K was involved in an online feud with Sukihana, criticizing her behavior, appearance and overall persona.[46][47][48]
