Draft:Tanforan Shell Gas Station

Hangry Planet is a gas station in San Bruno, California, known for its quirky sculptures[1] and plant-based convenience store.[2] The adjoining Laserwash drive-through carwash also hosts periodic art installations combining lights, video and music.[3]

In 2018, the gas station's owner lost an appeal to create a whale sculpture at the exit of the Laserwash.[4][5][6] The gas station is locally known for hosting community events; in 2020, the Tanforan Shell hosted a "Relief-O-Rama" fundraiser with live music, art, and a dunk tank featuring Biden and Trump impersonators.[7] The dunk tank also made an appearance during a 2008 "anger management" promotion amid record gas prices.[8]
