Takhmina Turdialieva (Tahmina Turdialiyeva Xusanovna, born in 1991) is an Uzbek architect and social activist. Her practice focus on meaningful development of urban areas.
Known for receiving "Turkistan Architect Awards"[1][2][3][4] and winning national and international architecture competitions.[5][6][7]
She was named as one of the 100 world-leading female architects by RIBA Books.[8]
Biography edit
In 2012, she graduated with honors from the Tashkent Institute of Architecture and Building, is a laureate of the State Scholarship of the President of Uzbekistan.
In 2020 was appointed advisor to the Governor of Samarkand on architecture and construction affairs.[9]
In 2021 she founded architecture studio "Tatalab[10]" in Tashkent. Her studio is engaged in numerous projects including the refurbishment of the offices of the government's anti-corruption agency. The studio recently created an outdoor events space at the city's Centre for Contemporary Arts (CCA), which is located in an early 20thcentury diesel power plant.[11][12]
In 2021 she co-founded the Young architects Association of Uzbekistan[13] "Shaharsozlik To'lqini" - an organization dedicated to raising the voice of young architects.
