Draft:Switzerland railway electrification

Proposed title 'Draft:Switzerland railway electrification' edit

Switzerland has some of the best railways around the world with all of its lines fully electrified with overhead lines (OLE). [1] All of Switzerland's railways are owned by the Swiss Federal Railways or SBB (from German: German: Schweizerische Bundesbahnen)

History edit

By 1936, most of Switzerland's railways have been electrified at 70%. [2] This compares with 38% in the UK on July 2023. [3]
