Sunday Iyahen (born 3 October 1937) is a Nigeria professor of Mathematics and former senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.[1]

Early life and education edit

Born on 3 October 1937 in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria,[1] Iyahen embarked on his educational journey at Saint Matthew's Primary School, Benin City, from 1944 to 1945, and later attended Saint Peter's School, Benin City, from 1945 to 1951.

In 1952, Iyahen enrolled in Edo College, Benin City. He later transferred to St Patrick's College, Asaba, where he successfully passed the Cambridge school certificate examination with Division One in 1956.

In 1957 to 1958 he pursued his Cambridge Higher School Certificate at Government College, Ibadan.

In 1959, he worked as an Assistant Statistical Officer at the Federal Office of Statistics in Lagos before gaining admission to University College, Ibadan, later that year.

He studied at the University of Ibadan, graduating with a first-class bachelor's degree in 1963.
