The Subaru Rioma was a 2+2 coupe concept built by Subaru for the 1991 Tokyo Motor Show,[1] and was marketed towards younger buyers as a vehicle that combined safety and sportiness. This concept also showcased Subaru's Flexible Fuel Engine technology,[1] which allowed the engine to run on E85 fuel, which was not seen in consumer vehicles until 1996.[2]
Design
editThe Rioma's interior was all red with the exception of the steering wheel and other trim around the driver's seat.[3] This bright red color extends to the engine bay, where both the underside of the hood and the engine bay's surrounding trim are in the same color.[1][3]
Techinical
editThe Rioma was equipped with a 2.0 L DOHC H4 Flexible Fuel Engine[1][4] which sent power to all for wheels via a dual-range all-wheel drive drivetrain.
This engine could run on gasoline with an ethanol concentration of up to 85%.[1]
The vehicle was equipped with Airbags and 4-point harnesses.[1][4]
