Steve Garnett (born 7 December 1957) is a British businessman and the former executive Chairman EMEA of Salesforce.com.[1][2]
Early Life and Education edit
Garnett was born in Fazakerley, Liverpool, and attended Breckfield Comprehensive in Liverpool. Garnett received a degree in mathematics from Cardiff University and a doctorate in theoretical physics from the University of Manchester.[3]

In 1986, he joined Oracle Corporation, the American multinational computer technology company, to run their technical support operation before taking on roles in their sales, marketing & alliances departments, holding positions such as Director of UK Sales and Vice President of European Marketing & Alliances.[4]
In April 1997 he left Oracle to join the Californian software company Siebel Systems as Vice President & General Manager of Europe, Middle East & Africa. The company was sold to Oracle Corporation in 2006.[5]
In April 2002 he joined Salesforce.com to head European operations and be part of the executive team. He also took on the role of Executive Chairman, EMEA. Garnett has been a regular contributor to CNBC.[6]
He retired from his position as Executive Chairman EMEA at Salesforce.com in 2016.[7]
Garnett was a major investor in 1E, which was acquired by the Carlye Group in for $270m in 2021.[8] Garnett was also the founding investor and chairman of the board of Fairsail which was acquired by Sage in 2017 for a reported £110m.[9][10][11]
Garnett is a supporter and financial contributor to the University of Liverpool’s specialist Maths School which he officially opened in September 2021.[12][13]
