Sparkman, Florida is a ghost town in Charlotte County, Florida.
Sparkman was a turpentine and a sawmill town first settled around 1905. Sparkman grew to have a school that doubled as a church during the weekends, a general store, and a baseball team, also later Sparkman received a post office in 1914. [1]The Sparkman baseball team often played against the Bermont Baseball Team.[2] Many investors during the Florida Land Boom bought large areas of land in and around Sparkman. The investors planned large subdivisions and had infrastructure put in like streets and sidewalks, but few were sold before the end of the Florida Land Boom. Eventually the post office closed in 1942. Today much of the town is now owned by Hall Ranch.[3] The coordinates of where the former town of Sparkman are around 27°00'23"N 81°42'41"W.
