editSonia received “Police Officer of the Year” award at Auckland, New Zealand in 2023.[3][4][5][6]
The award was conferred by the International Association of Women Police for best policing and her efforts to prevent violence against the women.[7]
Sonia Shamroz,also the only Muslim woman to win the International Association of Women Police Award, has made history again.[8]

editIn 2024 she has been appointed as the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Establishment in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, becoming the first woman to hold this position.[9]
