Socio-Legal Review is an open source, peer-reviewed, bi-annual journal[1] publishing interdisciplinary academic works engaging with the law and social sciences.[2] It was first published with the help of a grant from the Modern Law Review in 2005,[3] and is run by the students of the National Law School of India University, Bengaluru.[4] The journal has been cited in two judgements pronounced by the Supreme Court of India — Justice KS Puttaswamy v. Union of India[5] (Chandrachud, J.) and Joseph Shine v. Union of India[6] (Chandrachud and Indu Malhotra, JJ.).[7] Additionally, SLR is also indexed on HeinOnline[8] and SCC Online.[9]
In addition to the print issues, SLR also runs the Socio-Legal Review Forum[10] for the publication of shorter pieces with the aim of facilitating timely discourse[11] on contemporary issues of socio-legal relevance.[12]
