Draft:Slide gate plate

The sliding nozzle is a device for controlling molten steel during the casting process of the continuous casting machine. It can accurately adjust the water flow from the ladle to the continuous casting tundish, so that the inflow and outflow of molten steel can be balanced, making the continuous casting operation easier to control. It is an indispensable part of smelting. The sliding nozzle is usually composed of a drive device, a mechanical part, and a refractory material part (i.e., upper and lower slides, and a lower nozzle).

High-aluminum slide: After molding, it is impregnated with asphalt and then lightly calcined to obtain higher strength and dense and uniform structure. Phosphates are added to the ingredients to reduce the firing temperature, keep the slide size stable, and reduce the scrap rate and grinding amount.

Zirconium slide: Good resistance to chemical corrosion and mechanical erosion. However, because zirconium oxide is expensive, it is usually made into an inlay ring or inlay.

Aluminum carbon slide gate plate: a product developed in the late 1970s, with sintered alumina and synthetic mullite as the main raw materials, adding carbon components and antioxidants (such as metal aluminum, metal silicon, SiC, B4C, Mg-B, etc.) to the matrix part, adding binder coal tar or phenolic resin for mixing and molding; sintering in a reducing atmosphere to form a carbon-bonded refractory material. Because of its dense structure, fine pores and a certain amount of residual carbon, it is difficult for molten steel and slag to be impregnated, so it has good corrosion resistance. However, its thermal shock resistance is poor, it cannot be used continuously for many times, and the carbon is easily oxidized during use, resulting in a loose structure and reduced corrosion resistance.

Aluminum-zirconium carbon slide gate plate: developed on the basis of sintered aluminum carbon slide gate plate. This slide gate plate uses low-expansion Al2O3-SiO2-ZrO2 raw materials to make a refractory material with baddeleyite, mullite, corundum, etc. as the main crystal phase and carbon bonding as the characteristic. Zirconium mullite is introduced as aggregate, and zirconium oxide in zirconium mullite undergoes crystal transformation at about 1000℃, accompanied by volume shrinkage and micro cracks in the grains, which greatly improves the thermal shock resistance of the material. ZrO2 has excellent corrosion resistance, which is significantly higher than that of aluminum carbon slide gate plate, and has become the mainstream slide gate plate used in large steel companies today.

Raw materials for aluminum (zirconium) carbon slide gate plate: corundum, zirconium corundum, zirconium mullite, graphite, zirconium oxide, resin binder, metal Al powder, Mg-Al alloy, etc.
