Shelling of Kyiv — series of missile strikes done by Russian Aerospace Forces on Kyiv, part of Russian invasion of Ukraine (2022). There were several attacks: 24 February, 26 January and 10 October 2022. Their targets were mostly civilian objects. It resulted in more than 10 civilian casualties and more than 100 civilians injured. The deadliest one was missile strike on 10 October.
In total, by the end of 2022, Kyiv City Military Administration reports about 52 missile strikes from Russia. Combined air alarm time in Kyiv is equal to 29 days[2][3].
As of 13 December 2022, more than 678 objects were damaged in Kyiv, including 350 civilian objects, 80 community objects, 77 educational objects, 26 healthcare objects and 25 public transport units[4]. In February 2023, the mayor of Kyiv reported about 800 damaged buildings, 417 of which were civilian; 17 of them were seriously damaged[5].

In the morning of 26 January, around 6:20 AM strategic bombers Tu-95 and Tu-160 launched Х101 missiles to Kyiv region from near Caspian Sea and Astrakhan. Between 4 and 14 missiles were launched. Ukrainian Air Defense managed to take down 1-2 missiles. However, several explosions occurred in Kyiv, one of the rockets hit a 9-story building in the Lukianivka neighborhood, Shevchenkivskyi District. This led to the partial destruction of floor 7, 8 and 9. The building was on fire. Civilians were stuck under the rubble and the rescue team tried to help them. However, one person died. Also, the rescuers managed to save one child.[6][7][8].
