Seth Kaufman (c. 1963) is an American writer based in New York City.[1] His focus is on satire, cultural criticism, entertainment-related themes and novels as well as creative nonfiction.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7]

Career edit

In graduate school, he co-founded an alternative rock and dance band.[8] He wrote for TVGuide.com and was a reporter at the New York Post.[1] He has written for The New Yorker[3] as well as for Vulture. Sassy, Vibe, and Raw Story. His 2012 book The King of Pain depicted a reality TV show in which contestants submitted to torture.[1][9] His 2016 novel Nuns with Guns featured a fictional TV show to explore the issue of gun control.[10][6][11] His 2022 novel The Seductive Lady Vanessa of Manhattanshire satirized contemporary romance fiction.[12] He has worked as a ghostwriter on biographies and essays as well as collaborated with other authors to write books on various topics.
