Sara Lemay, known as Scara ta Death, #22 is an American roller derby skater. She is a premier blocker and one of the longest playing skaters of all time for the WFTDA. Notably, Scara was on the two time Gold medal team.[1] in the World Roller Games in Nanjing China (2017) and Barcelona Spain (2019) [2] Scara is also known for her aggressive and hard hitting blocking technique.

Early life edit

Scara grew up in Yelm, Washington, was skating by the age four and involved in competitive inline speed skating by the age of 8. Prior to starting roller derby, she also played soccer.

Roller derby edit

Scara first learned about roller derby through the local Skating rink, skate land, and was further inspired by the film Whip It. Within days after becoming age eligible for roller derby, she was in new skates and gear and started teaching herself how to compete alongside her life long rink friends.

In July of 2007, Scara joined the Oly Rollers fresh meat program. In February of 2016, she moved to Colorado where she joined Denver Roller Derby (DRD) and by March of 2023 was playing for the all-star travel team "The Mile High Club". As her position in the Roller Derby community rose, she was voted in as a DRD board member in November of 2023.

As of Feb 2024, she is currently a board member for Denver Roller Derby, and actively skates for Team USA Roller Derby[3], BeastSide Roller Derby, Bruising Altitude, Indigenous Rising[4], Mile High Club[5], and the Orange Crushers[6]

In September 2013, Scara was married to Cory Lemay.[7]
