Sayidkhan Kiatpathan (Thai: ซายิดข่าน เกียรติปาทาน) is a former Thai Muay Thai kickboxer and boxer who competed and rose to prominence in the 1990s.

Biography and career

He was born as Sayidkhan Kulamahmad (ซายิดข่าน กุลามาหมัด) in Khok Pho district, Pattani province, deep south Thailand in a Muslim family of Pathan descent.[citation needed]

He has fought in many foreign countries, such as Japan and the Netherlands. He has fought with many famous contemporary Muay Thai kickboxers, including Dany Bill, Manson Gibson, Kongasia Sor Kongsiam, Suriya Chor Waikun, Harold van Haagen, Luc Verheije, Leo de Snoo, etc.[1][2]

In the early 1990s, he also changed the style to amateur boxing for a period of time, and competed in the 1990 Asian Games on behalf of the Thailand national team alike fellow Muay Thai kickboxer, Jaroenthong Kiatbanchong, and once again in the 1998 Asian Games.[2] In addition, in 1999, he also had a professional match.[3]

He is currently the president of the Muay Thai-Boxing Tankhun Phandin Association (MBTA), which organizes both Muay Thai and amateur boxing competitions for children and youth in the five southern border provinces. Sayidkhan also runs the Muay Thai School.[1][4]
