Samuel Boland

Samuel Boland is an American and British doctor of public health and academic researcher specialising in epidemic preparedness, readiness, and response. He is most well known for responding to outbreaks of Ebola in the Western African Ebola virus epidemic[1] and Kivu Ebola epidemic,[2] and for associated academic research focusing on issues of localisation and civil-military dynamics.[3] Samuel is a Truman Scholar, Marshall Scholar, and Academy Associate at The Royal Institute of International Affairs.

Boland was born in Boston, Massachusetts. He completed a Bachelor's Degree in Public Policy at the University of Chicago, and a PhD in Public Health and Policy at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.[citation needed]
