Salah Hashi Arab (Somali: Salax Xashi Carab, Arabic: صلاح حاشي عرب) (10 October 1955 - 19 August 2010) was a Somali soldier, engineer, director, organizer, scholar and poet.[1]
He was an early member of the Somali Salvation Democratic Front (SSDF) as well as the Puntland State of Somalia. He was a delegate in the peace and reconciliation talks that led to establishing the Transitional National Government in 2000 and the subsequent Transitional Federal Government of Somalia in 2004.[2]
He has published more than 9 books in Somali ranging from histories to plays to a complete Somali-Somali dictionary.[3] His contributions to the Somali language research, standardization, and widespread adaption are debated and developed by Somali Language Scholars to this day.[4]
