Sacred Heart Church is a Roman Catholic Church situated in Richmond road, in the city of Bangalore. It was built in 1895 during the British Rule in India. [1][2][3][4][5][6]
The Bangalore Metropolitan Archdiocesan Cemetery for Priests is situated in the premises of Sacred Heart Church.[7][8][9][10]
History

In 1876, Bishop August Chevalier[11], a French Catholic Priest affiliated with the Paris Foreign Mission Society, established Sacred Heart Church in a small cottage on Victoria Road.
Later, in order to accommodate the growing congregation, a new church was constructed on Richmond Road. It was consecrated in the year 1895, by Rev. Jean-Marie Combret,[12] after the building was finished. [13][14][15][16]
