Robin Safar(Born 30 Nov 1992) also known as "Robz" is a Swedish boxer[1][2][3] currently based in Las Vegas Nevada and fighting in the cruiserweight division. Robin Safar has an undefeated professional record of 17-0, with 12 knockout victories to his name.

In the boxing and MMA communities, Safar's name gained wider recognition after being mentioned on the Joe Rogan podcast by UFC world champion Sean Strickland[4] gave him high praise and encouraged the world to keep a close eye on Robin Safar[5][6][7]. Additionally, Safar defeated former light-heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev at the "Ring of Fire" event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on May 18, 2024.[8].

Early life edit

Robin Safar was raised in Visattra, a municipality in southern Stockholm. [9] He is the son of a Swedish mother and a Middle Eastern father who migrated to Sweden in the early 1980s. Safar began boxing at the age of 19.[10][11][12]

Professional Career edit

Early Career edit

Safar started his professional career in Sweden. His potential was recognized after his fourth professional fight at a 'Sauerland' boxing event in Solna, Sweden, in 2017. A talent agent noticed his potential and encouraged him to move to the United States to advance his career further. In 2018, Safar relocated to the United States.[13][14]

Cruiserweight Division edit

In 2019, Safar had his first fight in the United States against Alfredo Contreras, securing a first-round TKO and advancing his record to 9-0. He has since maintained an undefeated 16-0 professional record.

After a year-long hiatus due to a torn bicep, Safar returned to face DeShon Webster, achieving a TKO victory in the fifth round..[15][16]

Robin Safar's Breakthrough Performance edit

On May 18, 2024, Safar defeated former champion Sergey Kovalev in a 10-round cruiserweight match in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on the Fury vs Usyk card at the Ring of Fire event. Safar won by unanimous decision with scores of 99-90, 97-92, and 95-94, and knocked Kovalev down in the final round.​

Born and raised in Visattra, Sweden, Safar moved to Las Vegas to pursue his boxing career professionally in 2018. He is a father and is currently based in Las Vegas, where he is coached by Ibn Cason... [17][18][19]
