The Ridgewood Public Library, located at 125 North Maple Avenue, is a public library in Ridgewood, New Jersey. It is a member of the Bergen County Cooperative Library System, a consortium of municipal libraries in the northeastern New Jersey counties of Bergen, Hudson, Passaic, and Essex, and the current building was built in 1962.[1]

1923-1962 edit
From 1923 to 1962 Ridgewood was served by one library known as the George L. Pease Memorial Library, founded with the funds of a Ridgewood resident named Gertrude Pease who named the library for her late father.[2] The library, which was located on Gerber Square, was built in the Italian renaissance style.[3]
1962-1998 edit
The village of Ridgewood chose to open a new library in Ridgewood on Maple Avenue due to a boom in population (caused by an influx of baby boomers) and built the new complex for 367,000 dollars.The new library opened in 1962 and the George L. Pease library began being used as a branch of the main library.[3]
1998-Present edit
In 1998, the Ridgewood Public Library underwent major renovations to construct the library into the current status that the library holds today.[3]
In 2008, the George L. Pease library underwent renovations using money by David Bolger and was available to be rented.[3]
