Rebecca Cappelli Loviconi is a French filmmaker and photojournalist based in Switzerland[1]. She is best known as the director, writer and producer of feature documentary SLAY (2022) and short film Let us be Heroes.
Background She received a master degree in Chinese Language from Paris Langues Orientales Institute (INALCO) and a master degree in media management from ESCP-Paris. Before filmmaking, she worked as a French-Chinese interpreter, in diplomacy in China and in sales in China, Hong Kong and Singapore.
Work Cappelli Loviconi set to uncover the impact of the skin trade in the fashion industry on people, environment and animal welfare with a focus on fur, leather and wool for her documentary SLAY. The documentary received international attention with media coverage from Vogue[2]Forbes[3] WWD[4] as well as French publication Liberation[5] and Switzerland's Tages-Anzeiger[6]
She is also a photojournalist affiliated with WeAnimals.
Awards She has received several award for her acclaimed documentaries.
