Rangili Aidew was an Assamese queen who was married to the Burmese king Bodawpaya of the Konbaung Dynasty. She was also the aunt of Badan Chandra Borphukan. Purnananda Burhagohain, the Ahom Burhagohain of that time gave Rangili to the Singpho(Jingpo people) tribe's chief Bichanong to establish cordial relations. However, Bichanong didn't accept her and presented her to Bodawpaya to maintain good relations with him. It is believed that when Badan Chandra didn't get the help of British and had went to Amarapura, the capital of Burma and sought's the king's help, it was Rangili Aidew herself who requested her husband to help Badan Chandra Borphukan.
