You have found many references which mention hm, but none which are about him. Putting more than one trivial reference to a single fact does not cunt. Lieutenant General Rajinder Dewan, PVSM.[1], AVSM, VSM is the serving Quarter Master General[2][3] of the Indian Army. He took office from August 2022 after serving as the Corps Commander of XVII Corps, where he was succeeded by Lt Gen. Bhuvana Krishnan[4].He is also the Vice president of the Indian Polo Association[5][6][7]
Education and personal life
editRajinder Dewan is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla and Indian Military Academy, Dehradun. In addition, he has attended the Higher Command Course at National Institute of Defence Studies, Tokyo; and the Staff Course at Defence Services Staff College, Wellington. He also has a Master's degree in National Security from University of Madras and attended his Bachelor's and Japanese language course at JNU, Delhi.
He is married to Mrs. Isha Dewan and has 2 kids who are currently in the US. He enjoys running half marathons.[8]
Career
editDewan was commissioned into the 18 Sikh Regiment, an infantry regiment of the Indian Army, in 1986. He took over as the QMG of the Indian Army in August 2022. Prior to that he has commanded XVII Corps[9][10](Panagarh) and the 10 Infantry Division. He has held various staff appointments including Brigade commander of an Infantry brigade; and commanding officer of a battalion.
As the Col. Cmdt of the Army Postal Services Corps he also inaugurated the very first Aadhar enrollment center in an Army Cantt. in Delhi.[11] Also, as QMG he signed the MoU with Mr Mohit Bhargava, CEO, NTPC REL for promotion of the National Green Hydrogen Mission.[12] He also commemorated the World Environment Day at Manekshaw Center in Delhi.[13]
Honours and decorations
editHe is a recipient of the Param Vishisht Seva Medal[14][1], Ati Vishisht Seva Medal[15], and the Vishisht Seva Medal.Apart from these, he has been awarded the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) Commendation Card and a GOC-in-C commendation card.
