Description of the sword
editThis sword is characterized by its straight and wide blade. Some of them are pointed on both sides, and some have their tip pointed on the back. They are among the strongest swords used by executioners.[2]
The Saudi historian Abdul Rahman bin Suleiman Al-Ruwaished mentioned other descriptions of the alqirda sword, including that it is short and moderate, and that it “uses its owner when confronting an opponent.” He mentioned Al Saud swords of the alqirda type: Morgana and Yaqut.[3][4]
