Princess Jeongui (정의공주; 12 July 1415 – 11 February 1477), was the second born daughter and the eldest to survive to adulthood of Sejong the Greatand his wife, Queen Soheon.

Life

edit

Lady Yi was born to Sejong the Great when he was still a prince, born by his primary consort, Queen Soheon of the Cheongsong Shim clan. She was the second daughter and third child of the royal couple.[citation needed]

In 1428, she was named Princess Jeongui (정의공주) and married Ahn Maeng-dam[1], who was titled as Prince Consort Yeonchang (연창위).[citation needed]

During the reign of her younger brother, King Sejo, she was treated good and had a close relationship with him. One time, when the Princess Jeongui was sick[2], Sejo and Queen Jeonghui visited the princess residence more than one time.[3]
