Shri. Palakkad Krishnarajan is a professional mridangam player from Dubai, UAE. He hails from a musically inclined family, where his late parents Shri. K. Sankaranarayanan and Smt. C.S. Visalakshi were trained musicians, with their native roots in Palakkad, Kerala.
Early Life : edit
Shri. Palakkad Krishnarajan [1] initially started his mridangam training at the age of 10, from renowned guru Shri. Parassala Ravi at Cochin, Kerala. He had the opportunity to further his knowledge in Chennai, under the able guidance of doyen Shri. Guruvayur Durai for a few years and continued his advanced training under the legendary mridangist Shri. T. K. Murthy. He follows the renowned Thanjavur Baani (Style of Playing).

Shri. Palakkad Krishnarajan has accompanied many renowned musicians in Dubai and India, to name a few, Shri. T. N. Seshagopalan, Shri. Neyveli Santhanagopalan, Shri. M. Chandrasekhar, Shri. Thanjavur Shankara Iyer, Shri. O. S. Thyagarajan, Malladi Brothers, Hyderabad Brothers, Sikkil. C. Gurucharan and so on. He also has provided percussion support for many dance arangetrams held in Dubai. He has played for many concerts for the past 40 years and has developed a unique style of accompaniment.
