Okporo is a community in the Orlu Local Government Area in Imo State, Nigeria. It is one of about 30 communities in Orlu.[1]
It possesses a traditional ruler, who uses a kola nut representing a “clean mind” and “pure intention”.[2]
In 2021, two people were beheaded and displayed afterwards at a market in the area.[3] In 2022, five people were shot by "bandits" in Okporo and three of the victims died.[4]
Mayor Eze condemned violent attacks in the area in 2022.[5]
Eze Ugo II and Eze Ugo III were rulers of the area.[6]
