Oliver Kershner Houck (February 25, 1862-1920)

He was born on Decatur, Illinois the son of John Cassel Houck and Rebecca Kershner Houck. His family moved to Nashville in 1873. He worked for Jesse French. He moved to Colorado due to tuberculosis and worked as a mule driver and railroad grader. He returned to Nashville and continued working for French until 1883 when he moved to Memphis and established O. K. Houck Piano Company with his father. The business expanded to other cities in the South including Little Rock.
