Nva Mubende Festival is an event and celebration held annually in the municipality of Mubende, Uganda. The celebrations start at early morning with football activities and close with entertainment from different musicians and radio presenters. It happens every January at Kasaana Playground in Mubende and is hosted by Sureman Ssegawa, radio presenter and sports commentator.[1] A firework starts off the celebrations and the popular song also called the Nva Mubende Anthem is sung at the end. This is hosted by Ugandan radio presenter and sports commentator Sureman Ssegawa.[2]
The event celebrates culture, entertainment and business people for people who are born, work, raised or stay in Mubende.
History
editNva Mubende Festival was founded by Sureman Ssegawa and supported by Radio Simba in 2023.[1] The first edition of the event happened on 28 January 2023 at Kasaana Playground in Mubende
The organizers of the annual celebrations announced the second edition of the festival on 2 December 2023.[2] The event which is scheduled for 2 December 2024 had a lot of changes announced including sponsors Simba Automatives motorcycles which were donated to be given to festival-goers as a way to get the people of Mubende out poverty.[3]
