On January 21, 2024 Bibi Netanyahu gave a speech regarding Israel's national security. This speech has been used as a source when claiming that Bibi Netanyahu used the contentious phrase "From the River to the Sea". The contents of the speech refer to the events of October 7, 2023, the hostage situation and Israel's overall security.
The actual sentence that has been misconstrued is as follows: "I will not compromise on full Israeli security control of all territory west of the Jordan River." The full text of the speech can be found on the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs website.
In spite of this, many news sources including The New Republic, Yahoo News , Yahoo News Canada and Vox, were found to have used this Jan 21, 2024 speech in claiming that Bibi Netanyahu had used the phrase "From the River to the Sea".
