Draft:National Institute for the Psychotherapies

  • Comment: An article about an organisation needs multiple (aim for at least three) published sources that meet all four criteria listed above. The sources currently present do not seem to meet these. Sources that meet these criteria will have to be added before this article can be accepted.
My reasons for feeling that the current sources are insufficient are:
#1 is a job search website and would not be classified as a WP:Reliable source
#2 is written by one of the institute's founders so is not an independent source
#3 I cannot access all of this source so I may be mistaken but from Google books it appears that this statement is attributed to the author contributions section at the beginning of the book, and is not in-depth coverage coverage of the institute.
#4 is information about a journal and not coverage of the institute. Mgp28 (talk) 17:42, 9 June 2024 (UTC)

The National Institute for the Psychotherapies (NIP) is a therapy training institute that provides education and treatment services in contemporary psychoanalysis and psychodynamic therapy. Chartered as a non-profit educational facility by the state of New York in 1972, NIP is located in New York City at 71 West 23rd Street.[1]

History

edit

The institute teaches multiple therapeutic approaches, a philosophy they highlighted by pluralizing the word “psychotherapies” in the institute’s name. [2]

Publications

edit

The journal Psychoanalytic Perspectives includes contributors who are current or former faculty at NIP.[3]
